Praha (Prague) description

With Gothic churches, hilltop castles and an Old Town straight out of a fairy-tale, Prague is easily Central Europe's most charming and photogenic city.

Prague is an endless maze of beauty, history and culture, where imposing buildings, Baroque sculptures and playful public art jostle for attention.

The medley of architectural styles on display reflects the Czech capital's long history, with the 9th-century Prague Castle and the Gothic allure of St Vitus Cathedral throwing the colourful, Rococo Kinský Palace and the striking Deconstructivist Dancing House into sharp relief.

The 16-arch Charles Bridge, which links Prague's historic Old Town to the hilly Malá Strana neighbourhood across the River Vltava, is one of the city's most famous landmarks.

Another famed spot is Old Town Square, where crowds gather beneath the medieval astronomical clock to watch the hourly procession of the 12 Apostles.

This incredible city features a rich complex of historic buildings, among other things. Whatever the time of year, a trip to Prague is the ideal opportunity to take in the city's spellbinding architecture. While exploring the capital of the Czech Republic, keep your eyes peeled for these incredible buildings and structures.

The warm summer months are the busiest time for the city. Autumn brings gorgeous foliage to Prague's charming parks, and undoubtedly Christmas season draw in crowds in December. Prague is truly an all-year-round destination!
