This wonderful walled city, located at the south end of Croatia overlooking the majestic blue waters of the Adriatic, has its own airport (Airport Ćilipi) as well as ferry terminal, so it can be easily reached from vast range of European cities. Dubrovnik, "the Pearl of the Adriatic", is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since the culture and history of the city is extremely rich and because it is one of the world’s most magnificent walled cities. Dubrovnik was founded in the 7th century while the Old Town was built in the 13th century with two monumental arched gates, Pile (to the west) and Ploče (to the east) and filled with a web of narrow alleys, remains almost untouched to the present day, packed with beautiful and elegant Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, aristocratic palaces and fountains, contained within robust medieval fortifications. Dubrovnik is definitely a lively place, full of views, attractions, beaches, shops, museums, galleries, restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, cinemas, hotels, sport centers, events and more, so the number of visitors has increased exponentially. Besides, Dubrovnik's Old Town has been a popular filming location in recent years. The Game of Thrones (2011) television series, the Star Wars: Episode VIII (2017) film were both shot here, while the Robin Hood: Origins (2018) film has also been filmed here this year. Visitor numbers keep going up and up. For a lot of very good reasons, Dubrovnik is Croatia's most photographed city.
