Zavala Monastery is tucked away in the southern reaches of Bosnia-Herzegovina, perched on the southwestern edge of the Popovo Polje valley. It lies near the village of Zavala, roughly 6 kilometers south of the town of Ravno. The complex is built on terraces, offering breathtaking views over the wide and fertile valley floor.
This holy site is a Serbian Orthodox monastery, which holds deep spiritual meaning for the local community. Its name, Zavala, has become synonymous with resilience and artistic beauty in this part of Herzegovina. The monastery is dedicated to the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a significant feast day in the Orthodox calendar.
The oldest written evidence of Zavala Monastery dates back to a contract from the year 1514, which mentions a vineyard sale to the monks. However, it is widely believed that the monastery was originally founded much earlier, in the year 1271, which is the year written on the ancient monastery seal. By the 16th century, the monastery already possessed a scriptorium, a room dedicated to copying manuscripts. Also, the tradition has preserved the knowledge that the Emperor Constantine and his mother Jelena built the original church in Zavala.
Along with Zitomislic monastery (located near Mostar) and Tvrdos monastery (near the city of Trebinje), Zavala monastery is one of the most important monasteries in East Herzegovina.
The monastery suffered a terrible blow during the Second World War when it was ravaged by Ustasha forces in 1942. The Ustasha were the military wing of the Croatian fascist, ultranationalist, and terrorist organization, which ruled the Independent State of Croatia, a Nazi puppet state, from 1941 to 1945. The attack left most of the complex in ruins, destroying the residential quarters known as konaks. Remarkably, the humble, small church from the 13th century survived the devastation, protecting the precious art within its walls.
The surviving church is a fascinating structure, built partly into the living rock of the mountain. Its entire northern and western walls are carved directly into the cliff face, giving it the intimate feel of a hermit’s chapel. The roof is covered in traditional stone slabs, or slates, which blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
On the western side of the church, the vaulted ceiling is noticeably lower than the rest of the building. This architectural feature supports a hidden, secret room that once served as a vault for the monastery’s treasure. This concealed space protected valuable relics and manuscripts during times of danger and invasion.
The main tourist highlight inside the church is the stunning collection of frescoes painted in 1619. These artworks were created by the renowned Serbian painter and monk, Georgije Mitrofanovic. His work is considered some of the finest artistic creations from the Middle Ages in all of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Mitrofanovic's frescoes are famous for their vibrant, well-preserved colors and an unusual depiction of Jesus Christ. At the top of the vault, the painter placed four distinct portraits of Christ within circles. Jesus appears as a child (Emmanuel), with wings (Angel of the Great Council), as a middle-aged man, and as an old man (Ancient of Days).
Beyond the portraits of Christ, visitors can admire a beautiful composition of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple, which is the official dedication of the church. The cycle of the Passion is also represented, including a striking scene of the Flagellation. These works faithfully follow the archaic, golden-age style of 14th-century Serbian church art.
To the north-east of the church, perched directly on the rock, stands a stone bell tower of the ＂preslica＂ type, which was built in 1899. New residential quarters, or konaks, were constructed in 1876, and a monastery school was opened a decade later, in 1886. Before an Austrian stairway was built, a tunnel was the only access to the church entrance.
This monastery holds special importance for Orthodox pilgrims as the place where Basil of Ostrog, a famous miracle-working saint, entered into monastic life. Saint Basil later founded the famous Ostrog Monastery in Montenegro. This connection makes Zavala a significant stop on the spiritual trail of the region.
After the war, the monastery was fully restored and is once again an active spiritual center. Today, together with the old village of Zavala and the nearby Vjetrenica cave, with its old architecture and stone masonry, it forms a unique cultural, historical, and natural ensemble. This whole area is protected as a national monument of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Because of its outstanding national heritage and touristic importance, the Zavala Monastery site has been placed on the UNESCO Tentative List. It is being considered for inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This recognition highlights its global value as a blend of nature, architecture, and art.

We will explore Split, our next Dalmatian town, well-known for its Diocletian's palace built at the end of the third century AD as a residence for the Roman emperor Diocletian, and today forms about half of the old town of Split. We will walk streets of historical center and see beautiful cathedral.
In another one Venetian town, Trogir (UNESCO World Heritage site), we will walk its historical center with network of narrow cobblestoned streets, gorgeous cathedral with beautiful paintings and sculptures, its harbor, and small fortress.
As we will finish to explore Trogir, we will take a road to Bosnia-Herzegovina, to famous town Mostar. Next day we will start with exploring Mostar (UNESCO World Heritage site), its historical center and see beautiful Old Bridge. At the same day, we also we will visit historical town Blagaj with dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520 over river coming from a cave.
During next 2 days we will explore a few attractions in Mostar area: pilgrimage center Medjugorje and learn why so many people come here every year, see beautiful Kravica waterfalls, and will have a dinner in local restaurant at rare place, a real Roman villa Rustica, established as agricultural estate in 4th century AD.

Day 1. We depart from Split and cross into Bosnia-Herzegovina, first visiting the spectacular Kravica waterfalls, a natural amphitheater of cascades on the Trebizat River, ideal for swimming and photography. We then continue to Medjugorje, a world-famous Roman Catholic pilgrimage center that has attracted millions of visitors since reported apparitions began in 1981. Our journey proceeds to the iconic city of Mostar to explore its famous historical center (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and admire the reconstructed 16th-century Stari Most (Old Bridge), a powerful symbol of reconciliation. We will stay overnight in Mostar.
Day 2. After staying in Mostar, we take a short drive to Blagaj to visit the stunning Dervish monastery (Tekija) (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a 16th-century Sufi (Islamic) retreat dramatically built at the source of the emerald Buna River. We then travel to the enchanting Ottoman-era hill town of Pocitelj (UNESCO Tentative List Site), renowned for its beautifully preserved stone architecture and panoramic views. Our day concludes at Podrumi Andrija, a family-owned winery where we will sample excellent local vintages. After that, we will return to Mostar for accommodation.
Day 3. After 2 nights in Mostar, we travel to Radimlja to see the remarkable medieval stecci (tombstone) necropolis (UNESCO World Heritage Site) from the 15th-16th centuries. We then continue to Stolac to admire its ancient hilltop fortress (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with origins dating to the 5th century. Our journey proceeds to the fascinating Vjetrenica cave system (UNESCO World Heritage Site), renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity, and to the nearby Zavala monastery, an Eastern Orthodox site. We then travel to Trebinje to see the elegant Arslanagic Bridge from the 16th century. After that, we will come to Trebinje for accommodation.
Day 4. After staying in Trebinje, we travel to Tvrdos to explore its Serbian Orthodox monastery, originally founded in the 15th century, and sample local wines at its winery. We return to Trebinje to visit the hilltop Hercegovacka Gracanica church with its panoramic views, explore the Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Cathedral, and wander through the charming historical center. We stay another night in Trebinje.
Day 5. After 2 nights in Trebinje, we enjoy a scenic drive through the stunning Sutjeska National Park, one of Bosnia's oldest and most beautiful protected areas. We then continue to Sarajevo, with a poignant stop at the Tunnel of Hope museum, a preserved underground passage that served as a vital lifeline during the city's siege in the 1990s. After that, we will come to Sarajevo for accommodation.
Day 6. After staying in Sarajevo, we explore the city's historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a vibrant mosaic of Eastern and Western influences. We see the Sacred Heart Cathedral, visit the Gazi Husrev-beg museum, wander through the bustling Bascarsija old bazaar, and admire the elegant Sebilj fountain. We stay another night in Sarajevo.
Day 7. After 2 nights in Sarajevo, we travel to Travnik to explore its imposing medieval fortress, dating back to the 14th century and once the seat of Ottoman viziers. We then enjoy a peaceful stroll along the scenic Travnik river. After that, we will come to Jajce for accommodation.
Day 8. After staying in Jajce, we admire the spectacular Pliva waterfall, where the river plunges directly into the Vrbas, creating one of the most photographed scenes in the country. We explore the unique Mithras Temple, a rare 2nd-century Roman monument dedicated to the mystery god Mithras. We then stroll through Jajce's historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site) with its medieval fortress, and relax in the tranquil Mlincici park. We stay another night in Jajce.
Day 9. After 2 nights in Jajce, we travel to Scit to visit its serene Franciscan (Roman Catholic) monastery, a key spiritual and cultural center, and explore the Scit Ethnographic museum, which beautifully showcases traditional rural life and customs. Finally, we return to Split, where our memorable journey concludes.

The same day we will cross the border and come to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Here, we will take a scenic road toward Ottoman fortress Travnik and will come to see the capital Sarajevo. In Sarajevo, we will explore the historical center and learn why this town have so many unique characteristics.
Near Sarajevo we will visit an important place for all Sarajevo residents, so called Tunnel of Hope, saved many lived during the siege. After we will take a road to Mostar, and on the way in will see beautiful bring in town Konjic. This day we will finish in Mostar (UNESCO World Heritage site), exploring its historical center and walk over famous Mostar Old Bridge.
Next what we need to see are few places not so far from Mostar. We will see historical town Blagaj with dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520 over river that coming from a cave, after that we will have a refreshing walk in Kravica, a green area with cascade of waterfalls, and finish this day with visiting pilgrimage center Medjugorje.
After Mostar, we will come to explore historical town Pocitelj, with narrow streets and old Ottoman fort with great panoramic view. From there, we continue to Doboj to see its imposing fortress, first mentioned in 1415 and one of the best-preserved in the country. After that, we will come to Doboj for our overnight stay.
Day 3. After an overnight in Doboj, we travel to Tesanj to explore its ancient castle, whose origins date back to the 14th century and later served as an Ottoman stronghold. Continuing to Banja Luka, we will wander through its historical center with Austro-Hungarian architecture and visit the local brewery, renowned for traditional beer craftsmanship since 1873. After that, we will come to Banja Luka for our overnight accommodation.
Day 4. After an overnight in Banja Luka, we travel to Ljubacke Doline to explore this charming ethno village showcasing traditional architecture and rural life. We will then admire the picturesque Krupa waterfall, a serene natural gem nestled in lush greenery, followed by a peaceful stroll through Vrbas river park along the emerald-green canyon. After that, we will come to the historic town of Jajce for the next two nights.
Day 5. After an overnight in Jajce, we dedicate the day to exploring this remarkable town. After beginning our tour in Sarajevo, we dedicate our first day to exploring the city's rich historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with its fascinating blend of Eastern and Western influences. We will visit the neo-Gothic Sacred Heart Cathedral from 1889, explore the Gazi Husrev-beg museum housed within a 16th-century Islamic complex, wander through the enchanting Bascarsija old bazaar dating from Ottoman times, and admire the iconic Sebilj fountain, a wooden masterpiece from 1891. We will remain in Sarajevo for the next two nights.
Day 2. After an overnight in Sarajevo, we travel to the Tunnel of Hope museum, a poignant reminder of the city's resilience during the 1992-1996 siege. Returning to Sarajevo, we will visit the Olympic museum, commemorating the 1984 Winter Olympics and preserving the spirit of that historic event. We will return to our accommodation in Sarajevo for a second night.
Day 3. After 2 nights in Sarajevo, we begin our journey by taking the Sarajevo funicular to the mountain overlooking the city for panoramic views. We then travel to Etno avlija Mackovac, a charming ethno village showcasing traditional Bosnian architecture, crafts, and rural hospitality. After that, we will come to the city of Tuzla for our overnight accommodation.
Day 4. After an overnight in Tuzla, we travel to Srebrenik to explore its magnificent fortress, one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in the country, first mentioned in 1333 and perched dramatically on a volcanic cone. After that, we will come to Doboj for our overnight stay.
Day 5. After an overnight in Doboj, we explore the imposing Doboj fortress, dating from the early 13th century and strategically positioned above the Bosna River. We then travel to Tesanj to see its ancient castle, whose origins trace back to the 14th century, later serving as an important Ottoman stronghold. After that, we will come to Banja Luka for the next two nights.
Day 6. After an overnight in Banja Luka, we travel to Ljubacke doline to explore this picturesque ethno village nestled in a valley, offering insights into traditional rural life and architecture. Returning to Banja Luka, we will visit the modern Christ the Savior Cathedral, an Orthodox cathedral completed in 2004, explore the historic Kastel fortress dating from Roman times, and discover the local brewery, renowned for traditional beer craftsmanship since 1873. We will remain in Banja Luka for a second night.
Day 7. After 2 nights in Banja Luka, we travel to admire the serene Krupa waterfall, a hidden gem surrounded by lush greenery. We then continue to a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the emerald-green Vrbas river canyon, followed by a journey to Jajce, where we will enjoy a peaceful walk through Mlincici park with its historic watermills. After that, we will come to the historic town of Jajce for the next two nights.
Day 8. After an overnight in Jajce, we dedicate the day to exploring this remarkable town. We will marvel at the unique Jajce waterfall where the Pliva River plunges 22 meters directly into the town center, visit the ancient Mithras Temple from the 4th century, explore the 14th-century fortress that once served as the seat of Bosnian kings, and wander through the well-preserved historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site) with its charming streets and ancient churches. We will remain in Jajce for a second night.
Day 9. After 2 nights in Jajce, we travel to Travnik to explore its impressive 15th-century fortress, once the residence of Ottoman viziers and offering panoramic views of the town. We will also stroll along the scenic Travnik river, with its picturesque old mills and bridges that have inspired poets for centuries. After that, we will come to Bugojno for our overnight accommodation.
Day 10. After an overnight in Bugojno, we travel to Scit to explore its serene Franciscan monastery and the fascinating Ethnographic museum, learning about local heritage and traditional life. Our journey then brings us to the iconic city of Mostar, where we will spend time exploring its vibrant historical center and gaze upon the famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a masterpiece of Ottoman engineering from the 16th century. After that, we will come to Mostar for the next three nights.
Day 11. After an overnight in Mostar, we travel to Blagaj to see the remarkable Blagaj monastery (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a Dervish monastery built in the 16th century at the base of a cliff overlooking the source of the Buna river. We continue to Žitomislić to visit the Orthodox Žitomislić monastery, rebuilt after the 1990s conflict, and then to Podrumi Andrija winery to sample local wines in the picturesque Herzegovina countryside. We will return to our accommodation in Mostar for a second night.
Day 12. After 2 nights in Mostar, we travel to the picturesque medieval town of Pocitelj (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with its characteristic stone houses and 15th-century fortress overlooking the Neretva River. We will then continue to the stunning Kravica waterfall, a 25-meter high cascade perfect for relaxation. Our next stop is Medjugorje, the world-renowned pilgrimage center where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared since 1981. We will return to our accommodation in Mostar for a third night.
Day 13. After 3 nights in Mostar, we travel to Radimlja to explore the remarkable Radimlja archaeological site (UNESCO World Heritage Site), featuring exceptional stećci medieval tombstones from the 15th-16th centuries. We continue to Stolac to view its ancient fortress (UNESCO Tentative List Site), followed by a visit to Vjetrenica cave (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the largest and most biodiverse cave in Bosnia-Herzegovina. We will also see the nearby Zavala monastery, an Orthodox monastery dating from the 13th century. After that, we will come to the charming city of Trebinje for the next two nights.
Day 14. After an overnight in Trebinje, we begin with a visit to the Tvrdos monastery, an Orthodox monastery originally from the 15th century, where we can also explore its renowned winery producing fine wines. Returning to Trebinje, we will see its elegant 16th-century Ottoman bridge, visit the beautiful Hercegovacka Gracanica church perched on a hill overlooking the city, and wander through the well-preserved historical center with its stone streets and squares. We will remain in Trebinje for a second night.
Day 15. After 2 nights in Trebinje, we travel to Sutjeska National Park, the oldest national park in Bosnia-Herzegovina, established in 1962. We will explore its scenic roads through primeval forests and dramatic mountain landscapes, home to the last primeval forest in Europe and the site of a significant World War II battle. After that, we will return to Sarajevo, where our memorable tour concludes.

Day 1. After beginning our tour in Sarajevo, we dedicate our first day to exploring the city's rich historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with its fascinating blend of Eastern and Western influences. We will visit the neo-Gothic Sacred Heart Cathedral from 1889, explore the Gazi Husrev-beg museum housed within a 16th-century Islamic complex, wander through the enchanting Bascarsija old bazaar dating from Ottoman times, and admire the iconic Sebilj fountain, a wooden masterpiece from 1891. We will remain in Sarajevo for the next two nights.
Day 2. After an overnight in Sarajevo, we travel to the Tunnel of Hope museum, a poignant reminder of the city's resilience during the 1992-1996 siege and a powerful symbol of human endurance under extraordinary circumstances. Returning to Sarajevo, we will visit the Olympic museum, commemorating the 1984 Winter Olympics and preserving the spirit of that historic international event that brought the world to Bosnia-Herzegovina. We will return to our accommodation in Sarajevo for a second night.
Day 3. After 2 nights in Sarajevo, we begin our journey by taking the Sarajevo funicular to the mountain overlooking the city for spectacular panoramic views of the valley below and the surrounding Dinaric Alps. We then travel to Etno avlija Mackovac, a charming ethno village showcasing traditional Bosnian architecture, crafts, and warm rural hospitality passed down through generations. After that, we will come to the city of Tuzla for our overnight accommodation.
Day 4. After an overnight in Tuzla, we travel to Srebrenik to explore its magnificent fortress, one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in the country, first mentioned in 1333 and perched dramatically on a volcanic cone overlooking the surrounding plains. We continue to Destilerija Monogram to visit this renowned winery and distillery, sampling artisanal fruit brandies and learning about traditional production methods. After that, we will come to Gradacac for our overnight accommodation.
Day 5. After an overnight in Gradacac, we travel to Duga Njiva to explore its serene monastery, a place of spiritual reflection and religious heritage dating from the medieval period. We then continue to Doboj to see its imposing fortress, dating from the early 13th century and strategically positioned above the Bosna River, offering insights into centuries of defensive history. After that, we will come to Doboj for our overnight stay.
Day 6. After an overnight in Doboj, we travel to Tesanj to see its ancient castle, whose origins trace back to the 14th century, later serving as an important Ottoman stronghold with well-preserved architectural elements and panoramic views. Continuing to Banja Luka, we will visit the Mariastern Trappist abbey, a Catholic monastery founded in 1869, known for its peaceful atmosphere and traditional cheese production. After that, we will come to Banja Luka for the next two nights.
Day 7. After an overnight in Banja Luka, we travel to Ljubacke doline to explore this picturesque ethno village nestled in a valley, offering fascinating insights into traditional rural life, architecture, and customs preserved for generations. Returning to Banja Luka, we will visit the modern Christ the Savior Cathedral, an Orthodox cathedral completed in 2004, explore the historic Kastel fortress dating from Roman times, and discover the local brewery, renowned for traditional beer craftsmanship since 1873. We will remain in Banja Luka for a second night.
Day 8. After 2 nights in Banja Luka, we travel to Bosanska Krupa to explore Zeleni Otoci park, a beautiful green oasis along the Una River with walking paths and pristine nature. We then continue to Ostrozac to see its charming castle, a fortified structure dating from the 16th century that blends medieval and Austro-Hungarian architectural elements overlooking the Una River. After that, we will come to Bihac for the next two nights.
Day 9. After an overnight in Bihac, we venture into the pristine wilderness of Una National Park, exploring its scenic roads through lush forests and along crystal-clear turquoise waters. We will then travel to see the magnificent Strbacki buk waterfall, one of the park's most impressive cascades with its thundering 25-meter drop, followed by a visit to the serene Martin Brod waterfall nestled in untouched nature. We will return to our accommodation in Bihac for a second night.
Day 10. After 2 nights in Bihac, we travel to Kljuc to explore its historic fortress, a key defensive structure first mentioned in the 14th century, strategically positioned above the Sana River with commanding views of the countryside. Our journey continues to Jajce, where we will enjoy a peaceful walk through Mlincici park with its historic watermills dating from the Ottoman period, set idyllically along the picturesque Pliva River. After that, we will come to the historic town of Jajce for the next two nights.
Day 11. After an overnight in Jajce, we dedicate the day to exploring this remarkable town. We will marvel at the unique Jajce waterfall, where the Pliva River plunges 22 meters directly into the town center, visit the ancient Mithras Temple from the 4th century, explore the 14th-century fortress that once served as the seat of Bosnian kings, and wander through the well-preserved historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site) with its charming streets and ancient churches. We will remain in Jajce for a second night.
Day 12. After 2 nights in Jajce, we travel to Travnik to explore its impressive 15th-century fortress, once the residence of Ottoman viziers and offering panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. We will also stroll along the scenic Travnik river, with its picturesque old mills and colorful bridges that have inspired poets and artists for centuries. After that, we will come to Bugojno for our overnight accommodation.
Day 13. After an overnight in Bugojno, we travel to Scit to explore its serene Franciscan monastery and the fascinating Ethnographic museum, learning about local heritage, traditional crafts, and rural life passed down through generations in this mountainous region. Our journey then brings us to the iconic city of Mostar, where we will spend time exploring its vibrant historical center and gaze upon the famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a masterpiece of Ottoman engineering from the 16th century. After that, we will come to Mostar for the next three nights.
Day 14. After an overnight in Mostar, we travel to Blagaj to see the remarkable Blagaj monastery (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a Dervish monastery built in the 16th century at the base of a dramatic cliff overlooking the crystal-clear source of the Buna river. We continue to Žitomislić to visit the Orthodox Žitomislić monastery, beautifully rebuilt after the 1990s conflict, and then to Podrumi Andrija winery to sample local wines in the picturesque Herzegovina countryside. We will return to our accommodation in Mostar for a second night.
Day 15. After 2 nights in Mostar, we travel to the picturesque medieval town of Pocitelj (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with its characteristic stone houses climbing the hillside and 15th-century fortress overlooking the Neretva River. We will then continue to the stunning Kravica waterfall, a 25-meter-high cascade surrounded by lush vegetation, perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature's beauty. Our next stop is Medjugorje, the world-renowned pilgrimage center where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared since 1981, attracting visitors from around the globe seeking spiritual renewal. We will return to our accommodation in Mostar for a third night.
Day 16. After 3 nights in Mostar, we travel to Radimlja to explore the remarkable Radimlja archaeological site (UNESCO World Heritage Site), featuring exceptional stećci medieval tombstones from the 15th-16th centuries with intricate carvings and inscriptions. We continue to Stolac to view its ancient fortress (UNESCO Tentative List Site), followed by a visit to Vjetrenica cave (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the largest and most biodiverse cave in Bosnia-Herzegovina, with its impressive underground chambers, unique wildlife, and archaeological significance. We will also see the nearby Zavala monastery, an Orthodox monastery dating from the 13th century, nestled dramatically beneath the cave. After that, we will come to the charming city of Trebinje for the next two nights.
Day 17. After an overnight in Trebinje, we begin with a visit to the Tvrdos monastery, an Orthodox monastery originally from the 15th century, where we can also explore its renowned winery producing fine wines from ancient cellars and vineyards. Returning to Trebinje, we will see its elegant 16th-century Ottoman bridge, visit the beautiful Hercegovacka Gracanica church perched on a hill overlooking the city, and wander through the well-preserved historical center with its stone streets, squares, and welcoming cafes. We will remain in Trebinje for a second night.
Day 18. After 2 nights in Trebinje, we travel to Sutjeska National Park, the oldest national park in Bosnia-Herzegovina, established in 1962. We will explore its scenic roads through primeval forests and dramatic mountain landscapes, home to the last primeval forest in Europe and the site of a significant World War II battle. Continuing our journey, we travel to Visegrad to see the magnificent Mehmed Pasa Sokolovic Bridge (UNESCO World Heritage Site), an engineering masterpiece from 1577 spanning the Drina River, immortalized in literature. After that, we will come to Visegrad for our overnight accommodation.
Day 19. After an overnight in Visegrad, we explore Andric-Grad, also known as Stone Town, a unique tourist attraction and cultural project built in 2011-2014, dedicated to Nobel laureate Ivo Andric and his novel 'The Bridge on the Drina', featuring traditional architecture and museums. Veria, also spelled Veroia or Beroea, is a city in Central Macedonia, northern Greece, known for its rich history, Byzantine architecture, and proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aigai (modern Vergina).
