Srebrenik fortress, dating back to 1333, is located about 5 km away from town Srebrenik.
The fortress was built on a high, steep and almost inaccessible rock above the valley of the Tinja River. The rock rises from the surrounding terrain at a height of about 50 to 70 m. A deep excavation was made below the most accessible part of the fort, so that access is only possible through the bridge.
The entire fortress was built on an area of about 60 x 30 meters. The walls of the fortress are about 1.5 m thick, while all the other walls inside the walls are thinner. The whole fortress was built in one go and that time contain four towers, a steeple, a cistern and an apartment building with a basement.
The fortress was occupied by the ruler of Bosnia Stephen II Kotromanic until his death in 1353. After that the fortress got inherited by a distant relative of Stephen II, whose name was Danis. As he died in 1378, the fortress was abandoned ever since.

Day 1. We depart Sarajevo and travel to the Tunnel of Hope Museum, a poignant underground passage used during the city's siege in the 1990s. We then journey to Etno Avlija Mackovac, a charming traditional ethno-village that offers insight into rural Bosnian life and architecture. After that, we will come to Tuzla for accommodation.
Day 2. After staying in Tuzla, we travel to Srebrenik to explore its imposing medieval fortress, one of the best-preserved in the country with origins dating to the 14th century. We then continue to Doboj to visit its historic fortress, a strategic stronghold rebuilt in the early 15th century, overlooking the city. Our accommodation for the night is in Doboj.
Day 3. After staying in Doboj, we travel to Tesanj to explore its well-preserved Ottoman-era fortress, which dominates the old town. We then proceed to Banja Luka to see the grand Cathedral of Christ the Savior, a modern Serbian Orthodox church. We explore the historic Kastel Fortress and visit the city's famous brewery. We will stay in Banja Luka.
Day 4. After an overnight in Banja Luka, we travel to the unique cultural site of Ljubacke doline, an ethno-village showcasing traditional Bosnian architecture. We then continue to Jajce to enjoy the tranquility of its scenic town park. Our accommodation for the night is in Jajce.
Day 5. After staying in Jajce, we explore the town's unique natural wonder, the Jajce waterfall, where the Pliva River plunges directly into the Vrbas. We visit the historic medieval fortress, stroll through its charming historical center (UNESCO Tentative List Site), and see a local monastery. We stay another night in Jajce.
Day 6. After 2 nights in Jajce, we travel to Travnik to explore its imposing medieval fortress, originally built in the 14th century and later expanded by the Ottomans, and enjoy a final stroll along the Lasva River. We then complete our circle and return to Sarajevo.
