Day after day description

Day 1. We depart Tivat and cross into Bosnia-Herzegovina, traveling to the Tvrdos Monastery. This Serbian Orthodox monastery, originally founded in the 15th century, offers a peaceful spiritual atmosphere and the opportunity to sample local wines at its winery. We then continue to Trebinje to see its iconic Arslanagica Bridge from the 16th century, visit the hilltop Hercegovacka Gracanica church with its panoramic views and explore the charming historical center. Our accommodation for the night is in Trebinje.

Day 2. After staying in Trebinje, we travel to the fascinating Vjetrenica cave system (UNESCO World Heritage Site), renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity and spectacular underground formations. Our journey continues to the iconic city of Mostar to explore its famous historical center (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the reconstructed 16th-century Stari Most (Old Bridge), a symbol of reconciliation and cultural unity. We will stay in Mostar.

Day 3. After an overnight in Mostar, we take a short drive to Blagaj to visit the stunning Dervish monastery (Tekija) (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a 16th-century Sufi (Islamic) retreat dramatically built at the source of the emerald Buna River. We then visit the remarkable medieval stecci (tombstone) necropolis at Radimlja (UNESCO World Heritage Site) from the 15th-16th centuries. Our final stop is the ancient hilltop fortress at Stolac (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with origins dating to the 5th century. Finally, we return to Tivat, Montenegro, where our memorable journey concludes.

Blagaj is a village in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of Bosnia-Herzegovina, located in about 15 km from Mostar, and is one of the most valuable mixed urban and rural built environments in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Blagaj has eleven national monuments, and is famous for the spring of the Buna river coming from cave, historical Dervish monastery (tekija) built around 1520, and medieval fortress Blagaj Fort, town-fortress complex built on a 310 meters high karst hill. Blagaj is also known as a residential area of Bosnian rulers and royal families.

Stolac and surroundings have been inhabited since ancient times due to the area's favorable natural environment. The rich grounds along with other natural benefits attracted prehistoric man, and later the Illyrians, Romans and Slavs, all of whom left a wealth of anthropological evidence. The area has been settled for at least 15,000 years.
