Tours conditions and what tours include

Here on this page we accumulate some general information related to tours we offers.

Generally, our tours included:

transport with driver
transport in minivan with air conditioner

transportation for your group only, no foreigners
accommodation in 3-star hotels or pensions
accommodation in double rooms
accommodation with breakfast only

personal expenses, gratuities and tips

The sequence of visits may slightly change at any time in accordance with the opening hours of the sites and museums. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Amount of people in tour group

We at Monterrasol Travel deal only with small group tours, private or not private. Gererally, all tours we offer are for group 2 to 5 people. Some short tours, usually summer tours up to 5 days, can take 6 people. The size of group is limited by luggage people can bring. We count that every person will have 1carry-on and 1 handbag. Under that conditions to the car comfortable fit no more than 5 people with described luggage. On the long tours like 2 or 3 weeks or more, with large suitcases and some additional bags, better to form a group with 3 people maximum.

Under the condition of special price we can provide tours of any duration for a single person. Such tour is considered as private tour for single person, and so have a higher price.

Luggage

We count that every person will have no more than 1 carry-on and 1 handbag. Under that conditions, the car is comfortable to fit 5 people with described luggage. For the long tours (2, 3 weeks or more), when each person has a large suitcase and some additional bags, we prefer to have a group with 3 people maximum.

Languages

As it was said, English spoken driver and tour director will be with you. Depend on the conditions, tours, free time and your requests, on the tour with you can be Spanish or Russian native speaker, with good level of English, of course. Another languages can be provided on request, subject to availability, at an extra charge. Please request it in proper time.

Please note, the professional tour guide must be hired on the visited place, if wanted. What does it mean? For example, our group arrive to Mycenae, a UNESCO archeological place. Usually, such kind of places have their own certified guides for a fee. Also, there are licenced guides allowed to work for bigger areas, generally for a bigger fee. Any other person is allowed to guide without the authorization. This is monitored by local security and so called tourist police people.

Age restriction

Generally, we see our tours comfortable for people from 12 until 90 years. Due to the nature of our tours, we don't think that kids under 12 are suitable. If you think contrary, contact us. About the upper limit of the age, this is totally up to you and your comfort. We can always adjust your private tour to suit your needs. Our people will always help you with your luggage and with accommodation. Once again, talk with us!

Booking cut-off period

The "booking cut-off" period is a number of days after which we will no longer accept new bookings due to the difficulty in locating suitable accommodation. Exceptions are possible, please contact us.

Currently, we have these cut-off periods:

for all tours start or finish in Spain or Portugal or France: 90 days cut-off
for tours up to 3 days duration: 3 days cut-off
for tours up to 5 days duration: 7 days cut-off
for tours up to 7 days duration: 14 days cut-off
for tours up to 14 days duration: 30 days cut-off
for tours up to 21 days duration: 45 days cut-off
for tours up to 30 days duration: 60 days cut-off
for tours more than 30 days duration: 90 days cut-off

Limitations due to the season and/or a specific destination country may apply.

For people with kinetic / physical disabilities

Our tours involves walking on irregular, uneven or inclined surfaces. It is hard to follow for people with kinetic/physical disabilities. Our driver will help in normal human manner, but driver js just a driver. We at Monterrasol are not equipped to escort Tour Participants with extreme difficulty in personal mobility. If you need your dedicated helper person, you need to bring this person with you.

There are occasions where the entrance of the hotels/sites is not accessible to vehicles. Where these restrictions apply, drivers will drop and collect the clients from the nearest accessible point and clients will need to walk back and forth between the vehicle and the hotel/site.

Generally, the Tour Participants must be able to walk at least three city blocks level distance unassisted and without stopping. Tour participants must be able to lift their leg to a height of at least 41 cm (16 inches). This is required not only to get in and out of the van with ease, but also to be able to get in and out of bathtub and shower combinations, which are the most common type of facility in European hotels and inns. Some archeological sites also have toll steps.

Travel insurance

The Tour Participants must have health, accident and/or liability insurance that covers them in Europe. Each Tour Participant should check with a personal physician regarding the intention to pursue international travel. Each Tour Participant should check with an insurer to determine whether the Tour Participant has a policy which provides coverage during foreign travel. The Tour Participants should bring with them copies of insurance documents or a letter from an insurance agent certifying insurance coverage for hospitalization in the countries included in the Itinerary in case there is a need for medical services for any reason.

Payments for your tour

We have regarding to tour payment a few conditions. Due to nature of tours we offer, we need to book accommodations for tour participants as soon as possible. This is especially actual for high season (summer) when a lot of people already did their reservations of hotels.

Because of that, tours we offer are available with a specific booking cut-off period that depends on the tour duration, start date ans staring point.

If you going to book a tour 2 or 3 or 6 or 12 months before, you can pay by parts, but first part must be not less than 25% of full tour price for each person. No matter how long before you book a tour, full price of tour for all tour participants must be on our account 45 days before starting of the tour.

Follow the situation with coronavirus, if you change your travel plans after you book, we will accept the change of the tour date to any other date you like, without cancellation or processing fee, under these conditions:

new date and full duration of the tour are in the same season
new date must be available

For this kind of changes we will charge nothing. This mean, in this situation here is not involved cancellation fee, as well as any other fee from our side. If you decide to change the season or duration or something else for planned and paid tour, please do not hezitate to contact us. The solution for mutual benefit will be found.

Currently, due to the total tour prices which are quite high for average card limits, we offers to pay by bank transfer. After you sent us a tour request and we mutually agreed on tour date, we will send you instructions to transfer money to our bank account.
